I also have a 2004 FWD Saturn Vue (70,000) miles - MN car. The ride is not as smooth as it used to be. The garage indicated the rear shocks, front struts (and possibly the strut supports) need to be replaced. They also recommended the transmission fluid be replaced "it is dark and smells bad". Price is close to $1300. Your thoughts?

Rear shock's are 88 for both shock's labor is .9hrs time's shop labor rate 80-100?Front strut's are 132 for both strut's labor is 2.1hrs time's shop labor rate 80-100?Plus alignment maybe 100.By strut support's do you mean the upper strut mount's?1300 sound's steep for the repair's.I would ask how much he is charging for part's.
