broken brake switch?

my brake lights dont turn on when I press the brake petal, I was told it is the brake switch. I dont know how to change it though, can you help? Thank you!

STOP LAMP SWITCH REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Remove the floor air outlet duct on the driver's side.

Locate the brake light switch (1), situated on the left.
Turn the switch assembly with connector counter-clockwise.
Remove the switch and disconnect the connector.
