2004 Saturn 2.2 water pump replacement

Changed water pump on 2.2 ecotec engine in 2004 saturn and purchased and used sprocket holding tool. But now have a high pitched whining ( like a turbo ) when accelerating. Could timing have moved? What needs to be done now?

Balance shaft chain might need retiming -recheck it
