When turned off, I can shift into all gears. When turned on, I can shift into all except reverse. This will make a grinding sould

If its only one gear its usually in the transmission if it were all gears then i i would suspect the clutch pressure plate or the clutch hydraulics.You said only reverse? You said something about 5th gear in your header?
