Ignition switch and steering wheel is locked in my 2004 saturn ion after replacement of the transmisssion,Why?

Transmission went out in my car and was replaced with a used transmission and was driven but not far and then parked. Next day the car steering wheel and ignition is locked up and the key will not turn. I can only start my car with the keyless entry feature.Help!!!!!!!

I dont see how the two are linked together.Does the key look worn down?
