air blower, dead battery

you will need to replace the fan speed control unit, located at behide the glove box mounted to the fan motor itself if u have the acc[automatic control panel] type, but if u have the mcc [manual control panel] type it will be mounted all most in the same area but further up near the firewall.

last year, lost the heater blower in my car, however 2 days later it started working again on its own without repair. but would only work on 1,2 and four for speeds... now a year later its happening again. and will not work at all.. also my panel lights where the heater is do not work all the time.. is this all part of the same issue?? and if so how do i fix it?

I dont think its all the same issue with the lights and blower.You will need to do some trouble shooting.Do you have a multimeter to do some testing?

Where is the 2003 Saab 9-3 interior fan blower motor resistor located in the car. I need to replace mine since the interior fan runs after car is turned off. Nobs does not respond. Already replaced full control panel.

Your car does not have a speed resistor like older cars it has a blower motor speed controller instead more of a solid start device that works better. It is located under the dash on the passengers side.

saab 2003 93 cabin fan suddenly stopped working, fuses are fine, ac comes on - not fan. how do I diagnose, fan resistor was replaced three years ago

Power the blower motor direct from the battery and see what happens if it comes on-check blower relay, resistor and blower switch

do this first to find out if this was the cause for the fan motor been inop ,lift hood on passenger side lift crowl cover & remove cabin filter ,now pour water on windshield & allow to run on top of cabin filter housing ,if water runs behide where the cabin filter element would fit ,if so then u have water getting inside the car & causing damage to the fan speed risistor & possible fan motor ,good luck .

I am trying to remove the blower motor. I removed the two bolts mounting the motor that are visible after the removal of the glove box. It is obviously mounted towards the front of the car as well. Anyone know how I can get to it without jacking the car up or removing the entire dash?

need to know if your car is a old body style or new body style ,if old body style u need to remove engine cowl cover to gain access to fan motor ,& if new body style u only need to remove glovebox nothing else .

my SAAB 93 Vectors air blowers have recently stopped working.

Prior to stopping altogether they had been working previously without issues, however today when leaving for work this morning when on medium settings they kept on switching themselves off and on for know apparent reason, now tonight on starting the car up again to return home they have stopped working altogether, iv just spent over £450.00 on service and MOT and just dont have the funds for an expensive repair, is there anything i can look at or check myself?

you could test fuses relays and wiring sockets for power to find where the problem is?

u need a fan speed control unit ,this is located behide the glove box & mounted to the blower motor assembly ,also check if u have water intrusion from cabin filter housing ,do this by first putting wipers on park position ,how? turn ign key on then off after doing that hold wiper switch down untill u see wiper point upward release switch & wiper is now in park ,now lift hood & lift crowl cover on the passenger side ,there u should see the cabin filter & housing ,take filter out & pour some water on the glass allowing it to run on top of housing ,if u see water entering housing where filter sits then u will need to repair that cause that may be the cause for your fan speed control unit to go bad it may also cause your fan motor to stick ,good luck.

automatic climant control blower motor location on a 2993 9-3 sabb arc

Open the bonnet, take out the pollen filter and stick your hand down the back. This will allow you to see if the fan motor is seized. To get the fan out you have to take the glove box out and dismantle from inside the passenger footwell. The motor is a Siemens unit made in France. It has a steel shaft running in steel bushes allowing corrosion seizing !!

The fan for the air conditioner/heater quit suddenly. Would like to know if there is a fuse or relay that may be the cause or if the fan motor has gone bad and how to troubleshoot the problem.

I had the same problem yesterday - Sunday June 29. It worked fine on Saturday and when I went out SUnday morning and nothing.

I found a 40 amp fuse in the inside fuse box that is located on the left end of the dash - drivers side - right next to the door. It's big and I couldn't get it out. I'm going to take it in tomorrow and have it checked out.

Hoping it's not the fan as I just read an article that says it's 10-15 hours of labor because the whole dash has to be removed.

this is a ray of hope for you ,you will need to replace the fan speed control unit mount on the p/s ,you will have to remove the glove box to reach it ,also you do not have to remove the dash at all to replace the fan motor if need ,the fan motor is remove from inside the eng bay upper area after removing the crowl cover ,roughly a 4 hour paying job but it only takes 1 to 1.5 hour for complete job

my heater fan stays on full. only switches off when i remove the fuse.

you will need a fan switch control module bolted to the heater box on the p/s bolted riteon the cover where you would open to see the evaporator assembly if you have a acc control panel ,if you have a manual control panel then you would have to replace the fan speed resistor bolted where you fan motor is

What is the simplest way to lubricate a squeeky fan.

sorry to say but u will need to replace fan motor very soon, that is the first sign of wear, also check if u have water coming in on passenger side foot well area, if u do check cabin filter housing seal. to test for water leak run your garden hose on passenger side windshield glass then check flooring, reason been water may be getting into your fan motor & in turn causing fan to squeak.i should have ask this is this car a new style 9-3ss, cause this repair check only refer to that body style.
