2004 Rover 25 Battery light on dash

When driving the battery light is appearing on the dash board for a few seconds every now and again normally when I accelerate. I have checked the battery terminals the appear to be tightly fixed .

try replacing belt and tensioner recommended at 60k

This can happen when the alternator is starting to go out, I would swap it out for a rebuilt or new unit to help fix the problem.
