front axel replacement 2004 grand

replacing front left axel on 2004 grand prix. have hub off but axel won't slide thru the hole. how do we get old axel off

Hello,

Ok, the axle will not fit as you have found. So, you will have to remove either the strut assembly or the lower ball joint so you can swing the steering knuckle out in order to pull the axle out through the back side.
