I have an 04 grand am le. The ABS, trac, and service vehicle soon light came on. It was put on a machine and it said that the brake sensor needed replaced, I replaced the sensor, and the lights went off. That was three weeks ago. The lights now com back on ,usually when I have to go in reverse. When I turn the car off and restart it while going forward, the lights stey off. Usually until I have to use reverse again

Check the sensor installation. Something could be incorrectly installed or is out of alignment.

Have the codes read again to see if the trouble codes are same as previous.

What were the codes retrieved?

Could have been a wiring problem in the first place. The code doesn't tell you that you have a bad sensor, merely that there is an issue in the circuit and the tech has to find the problem from there.
