cannot open boot door with botton or remote control

Can you hear the solenoid activate with the remote? do you have access into the boot via split rear seats to trigger the lock?

I can't hear the solenoid but I do have access via rear seats

Crawl in with a torch and a few screw drivers, you should be able to trigger the lock that way.
