When I started the car security light stays on and horn sounds Also tried cutting the yellow wire leading to the ignition and attaching 3300 OHMS to black wire and other end to yellow wire No Luck

Security light has been coming on after driving several miles. No problems running yet. Recently put in new battery after a sudden no crank at turn of key. Did not notice if security light was flashing at that time. Should/can I reset something or am I heading for a new ignition switch?

What you need to do is cycle the security system which you can do by turning the ignition key to the on position without starting the car. Let it sit unlit the security light stops flashing then turn the key off, then back on again and start the car within 5 seconds. That should do it here is a guide that will help as well.

I have a 2002 oldsmobile alero. I was having trouble with the ICM and occasionally had to wait ten minutes for the security light to turn off before starting my car. This morning the car refused to start so I replaced the battery and the ICM. The engine turns over but still refuses to start. Do you have any idea what's wrong?

How do you know it was the ignition control module? Does not make sense.

Did you try another key which is simple unless you dont have one. It is the most common failure on these security systems.

Usually a security issue starts up and dies immediately. If not, start with a fuel pump pressure test and verify spark at the plugs.

You can bypass it by allowing the key to remain in the run position for aprox 10 minutes until the light turns off. Other than that, it needs to go to the dealer to identify where the problem is coming from. THey are the only place that has the proper equipment to identify the problem.

If that is on, I'm sure you are having a no start situation. Try a different key. The transister in the key may be bad. If it doesn't help, then I hate to say it but it needs to go to a dealer. They are the only ones with the proper test equipment to diagnose the problem.
