Customer towed vehical to me, no drive no reverse, codes 722, 726, 744, 797 and 1000. Rebuilt trans replaced forward steels and clutches underdrive or 4-5 steels and clutches, 3rd gear band, torque converter and put shift kit in it from transgo cleaned the three big linear solenoids. Test drove car for about 1/2 hr to 45 min. And I think the car went into limp mode barely moving in drive or reverse maybe 5 mph. No trans codes but check engine light code p0452 evap sys pressure sensor and got ABS, CTS, and SLIP. Got code for left rear wheel sensor 2. So will any of that make it go into limp mode or is that even limp mode or could it be trans. I no like on crysler limp mode will stay in second gear but u can go about 30mph. It sure fills like trans. I also noticed on my scanner {Genisis] that select lever position in park it says M mode, Rev says park, neutral says park, and drive says Reverse, need adjusment or is safety neutral switch bad. So my main concern is, is that limp mode barley moving in drive or reverse or is that trans problem. Only after its hot driving for awhile dose it do it. I can shut it off let it sit for a while and its ok. It shifts fine I get all gears. When barley no drive its in 1st gear.

According to symtoms chart, fluid level ok, control linkage or PNP switch ok, presure control solenoid valve A, bought shift kit cleaned solenoids, TCM, not sure. Torque converter had the old one rebuilt. Checked all shift solenoids electrically ohms checked out good. Rebuilt trans all new clutches, 3 gear band, 4-5 clutch drum. And a pump assembly that I got online on e-bay. I have pressure like its when it cold but after it warms up I loose pressure and it shifts good.

Originally when first got car had no drive no reverse but it was burned up but took pressure reading and I had good pressure. The pump was good the only reason I replace the pump is because I dropped the pump assembly and one of the guide ears broke off were u slide the clutches on.
I'm thinking the pump is bad

The components are so fragile dropping it would be a big concern, I would of been looking at that straight off if I had dropped it.

I will have to look into that port to see if it is the pressure port, but you can check at the cooler line as well, no flow no pressure. But regardless, it sounds as if the pump is faulty, would be checking that all check valves and ports in valve body are ok, one missing ball or one in the wrong place can cause headaches.

My actual first thought was a sticky shift valve or servo I really do think that you have to prove pump pressure first, I will have to go find some tech info on pressure ports, I do have to head out for a bit, but I will get on to it as soon as I can and post it here.

I fixed the pump problem. Ihave good psi, have drive and reverse, shifts great when its cold after it warms up and take it down the e-way mile up and mile back it starts to act up downshifts, it revs up 2-3 3-4 upshift, harsh 3-2 downshift, code p0744, I get lock up in 4th, shift sol A out says invalid and I noticed speedometer is inop. I can shut it off for a few seconds and its fine again for a little while and it acts up again. I put a shift kit in it. But maybe not enough, heard online that a new control valve body would take care of problem.

Not sure about that, but if there are reports that this may be a common problem and that is the fix, it may be the way to go, the problem sounds as if it revolves around a sticky valve.

I run my own business, but in the past I was a Toyota service manager and Toyota master Tech. I have been looking through fault charts but have not come across anything that mirrors your problem, you say it re sets it self when you turn off, this tends to have me thinking down two paths, either a back voltage problem or residual hydraulic pressure, the problem I have is not being able to experience this first hand, and I am getting a little frustrated that I can't nail it, over the week end I will get back into Mitchell 1 and see if I have missed anything.
