2004 Mini Cooper Driver Side Door Lock Suddenly Fails Open Key Faab Battery

Driver side door lock suddenly fails to open with key faab. Battery in key faab must still be good because other doors & hatchback open when depressed and all doors lock with it. Why not my driver door now?

most likely the actuator module on the driver's side door is bad. a fairly common occurance on these.
