Signal arm does not return to neutral position after completing your turn. I am thinking of replacing it with a product from a salvage yard and need to know how to remove it from the car. I understand there are two screws that hold it in but after removing screws is it necessary to pull it out laterally or is it pulled upward.

You will need to remove the steering wheel to access the switch. It sounds like the plastic cancel tab is broken off. Make sure to disconnect the battery and wait at least 30 minutes before working on or around the airbag.
