is my transmission slipping?

I have a 04 marquis that all a sudden reverse wont pull its making a growling sound from tranny but forward gears pull good but it feels like something is slipping?

drove it to town went to back up and wont pull?

You could get the codes pulled to see if it is a solenoid. Any Auto Zone or Advance Auto will do this for free.
However it sounds like you have a clucth or torque converter clutch issue.
you are probably looking at a full rebuild. Make sure you take it to a transmission shop as oipposed to a regular mechanic. AAMCO is a little to high priced and you can use the search engine on this site to finsd a transmission shop near you.
