When replacing the serpentine belt can the wrong tension burn out the alternator

I recently had my ac compressor replace and notice the vehicle running extra hard within 2 weeks my alternator burnt out. A new belt was put on also.

No, the tendsion would not cause the alternator to fail, the only thing wrong tension can damage would be the bearings.

This is not a possibility with your car since your tensioner is spring operated.
