Is there a difference between a jeep's engine and a mercedez benz engine?

Hi
I have been using a jeep for my off road rides. But decided to change and use a benz but to my disappointment, it jammed along the way. Was it wrong for me to use a benz or is it that a benz engine is weaker than that of a jeep? Assist me please

The engine must have a problem to cause it to seize.
