2004 Mazda Tribute front driver's side window

When I opened my window with the autodown function, it got about 2/3s of the way down, amde a grinding noise, brought the window back up approximately 1/2inch, and then stopped.

Most likely the regulator has come apart. Plastic pulleys crack and flimsy cables fray and unravel. I'm pretty sure the engineers knew that when they designed these systems. There are a number of companies that rebuild regulators. You can find them on the internet.
