Replacing keys and ignition cylinder for town car

I have two lincol town cars, a 2001 executive series and 2004 cartien. the key for the 4004 was stolen, can I use the one for the 2001 or I need to too use tje whole ignition system . Thanks

if it has a chip key, get a new one and ford will have to enable the security. if you change car to car, neither would work.

You can try using the key and cylinder don't work consult with the dealership

Yu mean only the cylider and not curry out the whole computer ?
