a trouble smoke smell coming from left side under the hood, open hood let it cool down stops, rattling noise sometimes not running hot or no leaks

sounds like you have a loose belt slipping or a idler locking up

yes your were right it was my air condition pulley, belt broke and noise stopped and car still running
