temp gauge in the red, but car is not running hot. change the temp sensor unit but gauge still going to red. #2 i have a 5hr trip, is it ok to drive

If it is a false reading, yes, you can drive but remember you won't know when and if the engine starts to overheat.

Either the gauge is faulty, the sending unit shorted or the ground circuit is poor.
