I did replaced the Coolant Temperature Sensor and deleted the codes but the code still comes up (i even replace the coolant temp sensor twice just to make sure I didn't buy a bad one) with the same P0117 code. The Check Engine lights up as soon as the temperature goes above 210, that's the time when the temp gauges goes down to 100 and slowly goes up pretty close to the middle then goes up again close to 260 but only for a second then down to 100. The freeze frame is showing that the Coolant Temp is 302 F, I am not sure if that's right. I don't smell any type of overheating. I took it to the shop for diagnostic and the mechanic said that he notice the High Fan Relay is not working that might be causing the gauges to get nuts but one of the mechanic is also thinking a blown head gasket. Please help. I just ordered RAD FAN Relay and will replace both today. Originally, the mechanic said that they have to remove the bumper grill to replace the relay but found out that the relay for 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 is by the Fuse and Realy Box by the hood. Is there anything else I have to check. What is the chance that I have a blown head gasket? And how much am I looking at? Thanks in adavance.
