2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Driving Oil Gage Normal Range Stop Light Let Car Idle

When driving my oil gage is at a normal range. When I stop at a light or let my car idle, the oil gage plummets and my check gages light comes on. When I drive away it goes back to a normal range and the check gage light goes away.

Have the oil pressure checked with a mechanical gauge. If it is okay, suspect the sending unit. That was a common cause of a low reading at idle in the mid '90s.
