I replaced fuel pump and fuel filter and it still is not cranking

My car stopped running, I was told that it was my fuel pump was bad, so I replaced the fuel pump, and fuel filter, and it still won't crank? The model and make is a 2004 jeep grand cherokee larado v6.

-Are you getting an ignition spark? if so check engine compression

What's the symptom? Cranking and the fuel pump have nothing in common. Chrysler fuel pumps never quit once they're running. When they fail, they fail to start up. If the engine stalled while you were driving, you could very well have a turned-off fuel pump but you have to check for spark too. Don't stop diagnosing with the first thing you find dead.

If the starting system also is not working, you might have a charging system problem. Did you notice a "Check Gauges" light or the voltmeter was going low?
