i have been told it is necessary to change plugs and coils at 70000 mile on my 2.5 xtype , even though the mpg is fine (30+) and there are no apparent problems. Is this the case?

There is no reason to change the coils if there is no signs of ignition problems, this a will just be a money making excuse by the workshop, the plugs may be due depending on type used and there age.
