hello the past couple of weeks the belt has been making an awful noise that seems bad when started or sitting still, but quiets down when drving, but today it started smoking and had a foul odor, the smoked seemed to be coming from the air conditioning compressor pulley, would u suggest it was the pulley or just need a new belt? thanks for any help

Chances are the automatic belt tensionier is bad. Check to make sure the belt is tight. If it is, then I would check the AC compressor (where you saw the smoke).
