Just a thought because im not real familar with this vehicle, does the dome light come on when you open the drivers door? Could be a problem with the drivers door ajar switch. See if the chime works when you open the passenger door.

Sorry Billpac, disregard my last sentence of my post, I meant to say if the dome light doesnt work when opening the driver door, see if it works when opening the passenger door, not the chime
