I have a 2004 Honda Accord 6 cyl. sedan (EX). The tire size that is recommended is P205/60R16, but I have P205/55s. Is that going to cause any serious problems?

It's not a good situation. That is a shorter/wider tire which will create problems with the ABS, fuel mileage, speedometer and possibly clearance. I would only use the correct size tire.
