2004 Holden Commodore transmission

Hey I have a 04 vz sv6 and have a transmission problem, it will go into gear and last only about 1 minute then it will rev but not move, if I take the leads off the battery and put them back on again it will then again drive for about a minute before losing power and just reving and not picking up speed, what could cause this?
