My car drives fine. However, when I'm stationary at the traffic lights (for example) I hear a knocking sound. The minute I drive I don't hear it only when I'm still. If it helps the sound sounds like it is coming from drivers side. Do I need to be worried? I don't notice anything like spilt oil, admittedly the air con is on quite a bit but that can't be it surely? In every other aspect my car seems to be running well.

Obviously someone is going to have open the hood and locate the source of the noise. With nothing else to go on, my best guess is you're hearing an emissions system valve cycling on and off.
