My voltage meter on the truck is reading like it is overcharging. We have also occasionally still have problems with the tps even after replacing the tps.

In the past 2 months, we had the TPS replaced in the truck d/t frequent check engine lights showing problems with the sensor and causing the truck to go into reduced engine power mode.

After the TPS was replaced, a few weeks later, we had to replace both batteries (no this is not a deisel truck it is a gas powered motor) and the alternator. I had noticed a couple of times that it looked like it was overcharging but just thought it was a fluke since my speedometer screws up all the time due to the module being bad. However then the truck was dead and both batteries and alternator tested bad according to oreilly's.

All was well for about a couple of weeks and now it is showing overcharging occasionally and occasionally has the TPS issue again. Took it to the mechanic and he tested the alternator and said that it did overcharge a little but not much for him and he could not get it to do the reduced engine power for him.

He said if it keeps showing overcharging to replace the alternator again(maybe its bad) and to bring it to him in reduced engine power if it does it with me again and maybe he can figure it out.

I was wondering if these were contributing problems or just coincidence? Does this sound familiar? Is there an answer that you have? Or What should I check?

Thanks for your anticipated assistance!

You need a lot more specific info before we can help you. We need the exact code number and the exact engine size for starters.
