dash just lit up like a xmas tree....stopped for gas, turned it on and abs light, 4x4 service light, brake light, and heater fan stopped working too! all the fuses seem to be fine...nothing looks blown that i could see.

Check the charging system first. Use an inexpensive digital voltmeter to measure the battery voltage with the engine off and again with the engine running. Engine off it should be 12.6 volts. With the engine running it must be between 13.75 and 14.75 volts.
