you need to check that the base isle is correct as that will effect the reading.

sorry for the typo. yes, with the idle air control disconnected, the idle should be 500-550.

top of the upper intake and has a 2 wire connector.

there is an adjustment on the throttle stop to up or down the base idle.
after that, remove the battery cable and let it sit for a few minutes and re connect.
