Why does my 2004 ford taurus speedometer read too high? No codes, eng is 24v DOHC

Speedometer sometimes reads 10-30 mph higher than actual mph usually when going above 40mph. Ford dealer found nothing, said to bring it back when it does it more often.

Most likely a faulty Vehicle Speed Sensor will be hard to find if intermittent

could also be bad gauge.
