In reverse the rear end is very jolty?

everytime i turn or reverse the rear end is very jolty and makes a loud clanging noise

check u joints then check spider gears in axle for to much play. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.

I would remove the driveshaft to inspect the U joints as well as check the differential fluid level, here are two guides to help us see what's going on.

I don't think the spider gears will cause this problem FYI HMAC300. Check out the images (below). Please let us know what happens.
