Okay so heres the situation, a couple of weeks ago I was on my way to get gas and before I got to the gas station (a few blocks away) my car seemed to putter like it wasnt getting any fuel. I filled the tank that night and thought problem solved, well I was wrong its been a constant issue whether the tank is full half full or empty it putters when I turn left and ONLY when I turn left, going straight or turning right theres no problems. Last weekend I was turning left to go to my cousins house and it puttered and then died and so I thought bad battery? Nope brand new battery and it still has this issue. At first I thought it was fuel related and that cant be it because I just had a brand new fuel pump, new injectors and new fuel filters put in and then I thought could it be the tranny? Well earlier today I was going down the exit ramp to get on to the highway and I was turning left and it puttered again and when I let off the gas pedal it was at a constant 4000 RPM almost like it was lagging between shifts. If I left off the accelerator or put the pedal to the metal it takes 2-5 seconds for it to get going. But within those few seconds it putters and then stops and then a split second later it jumps and goes. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what could cause this issue. And by the way there are ZERO error codes no check engine light and even plugged it in to double check.

Soft codes don't set a CEL.

The delay/hesitation could be TPS.

The puttering could be a loose or rubbing wire.

WHEN YOU TURN, ARE YOU LETTING OFF OF THE PEDAL (IDLING DURING THE TURN?)

I'M SORTA WITH RIVERMIKERAT WITH THE WIRE POSSIBILITY

I HAVE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH IGNITION IN A PREVIOUS CJ5, MAKE A TURN AND MY WIRE HARNESS WOULD HIT THE MANIFOLD, BY THE TIME IT WANTED TO DIE, IT WOULD MOVE AWAY AND RUN.

MY NIECE HAS A STANG THAT HAS HAD SPARK PLUG WIRES DOING THE SORTA THE SAME THING. ONE ONE EITHER SIDE OF THE ENGINE WOULD RUB AND CAUSE MISFIRES. IT WOULD ONLY SET A CODE IF IT DID IT REPETITIVELY FOR AN EXTENDED TIME. AFTER THE 2ND SET OF NEW WIRES WERE INSTALLED, MY BROTHER IN LAW INSISTED IT WAS NOT THE WIRES.

I WAS CALLED OVER TO REPAIR THE WELL PUMP, THIS SUBJECT GOT BROUGHT UP AS I WAS ABOUT TO LEAVE

SO HAPPENS IT WAS DARK WHEN I LOOKED AT IT, WHEN I MOVED AND FLOPPED STUFF AROUND I COULD SEE THE 2 WIRES ARCING

ONE MORE SET OF WIRES AND THIS TIME WE SPLIT FUEL LINE AND COVERED THE SPARK PLUG WIRES WHERE THEY WERE HITTING METAL. SO FAR, SO GOOD!

IT'S REALLY TIGHT IN THERE SO REALLY LOOK GOOD---THE ARCING IS FAINT. NOTHING LIKE A CAMERA FLASH!

I TRY REALLY TRY HARD TO TEACH MY BROTHER IN LAW STUFF, SEEMS IT'S EZier FOR THEM, IF I FIGURE OUT AND FIX THEIR STUFF

IF YOU DON'T REMEMBER NUTHIN' ELSE I SAY, 'MEMBER THIS---ESPECIALLY IN LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS

WATCH OUT FOR THOSE PESKY MOVING PARTS--THEY WILL PUT A HURTIN' ON YOU!

RETURN WITH GOOD NEWS

It does it when I turn a left off the brake and when I accelerate and if I manual shift it 1st, 2nd, and then to drive it works fine but I'm afraid to do that because I don't want to ruin my tranny

Check the fuel pressure. Try and do so while making a left turn. You could have a bad new pump, or a pickup problem.

Wont hurt tranny. So manual shifting lets you rev higher to change gears? I'd check trans wiring/connector plugs.

Was thinking I would take it and have the oil changed and a tune up and have them flush the tranny fluid and put new fluid in it

Can't hurt. Save money, change the oil and do your own tune up.
