****** as if engine has a miss, usually around 40 mph. Smooths out if I acclerate. idles just fine. sometimes check engine light starts flashing when missing begins.

You have a misfire. What you need to do is drive the vehicle to a nationally recognized parts store and have them scan the computer. It will identify which cylender is missing. Chances are you need to tune the engine with plugs and wires.

Have that done and let me know what you find.
