HOW TO INSTALL NEW ALTERNATOR IN FORD F350. IS THERE A TRICK TO MOVING THE IDLER? IT WILL NOT MOVE. THE TRUCK ALSO HAS A HYD PUMP IN THE BELT ROUTING SYSTEM.

The tensionier should move. Make sure you are placing enough tension on it. Also, make sure you are turning the tensionier and not an idler pully. Refer to our homepage under the DIY section for belt diagrams. Locate your set up and then locate the tensionier. That way you can be sure you are turning the right thing.
