NEED TO INSTALL NEW ALT IN A FORD F350. THE IDLER PULLEY WILL NOT MOVE, CAN'T GET BELT OFF. IS THERE A TRICK TO IT? ALSO THE ENGINE HAS A HYD PUMP IN THE BELT ROUTING SYSTEM.

You need a 3/8 or 1/2 inch breaker bar (I can't remember but all you have to do is look). and the longer the better.

Insert it directly in the middle of the tensioner pulley and turn clockwise. It will release the tension on the belt.

****NOTE*******
Remember the belt routing. If you have to, make a drawing of it.
