IS IT REALLY NECESSARY TO CHANGE SPARK PLUGS AT 100000 MILES. THE DEALER WANTS 300 BUCKS TO CHANGE 8 PLUGS. I HAVE A 2004 F150 4.6

It costs $300 because it is a 3 hour job and platinum plugs can be $10 to $20 each so the price is pretty reasonable. If you keep driving it with high resistance plugs, you're going to start taking out the coils at $100 each.

THE DEALER AIN'T THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN!

CHECK AROUND. SOMEONE ELSE CAN PERFORM THE TASK, FOR LESS $$$

PARTS STORE DELIVER TO ALL OF THE SHOPS, ASK THE DELIVERY GUY, WHO THEY WOULD TAKE THEIRS TO. CHECK SEVERAL STORES, DROP NAMES!

I LOOK AT THE CONDITION OF THEIR SHOP, BEFORE I WOULD COMMIT, EVEN AFTER A GOOD REFERENCE!
