Hello, I have a 04 ford escape 3.0L, ran fine went to work and then came home, never drove it the rest of the evening the following day it was thanksgiving I didn't drive it anywhere woke up the next morning for work and when I started the escape it seemed like it had a miss when it warmed up I left for work got around the block and had to turn around I couldn't go over45 miles per hour, now it starts up and when it idles down it misses and sounds like its flooding out and just dies, I done a pressure test on the fuel pump when you turn the key on the gauge reads 60 psi and when I start it the reading is at 65 until it idles and wants to die when that happens the needle on the gauge is bouncing back and forth, would this be a bad fuel pump.

If the engine is still running and the fuel pressure is dropping off, that could be a fuel pump issue but those symptoms don't seem to add up. The pump is electric so the RPM of the engine should have no effect on the pressure although this is a variable pressure system and fluctuation could be normal. If you have a misfire there should be some codes stored in the computer. The first step would be to retrieve those codes and they should give you a direction to look.
