My car broke down and went into limp mode.

I was told that a core plug had to be replaced.

The guys recovered the car from my house to the garage and are fixing it.

They are telling me that it would cost me 200 quids including labor and parts.is that a rip off?

I doubt that it is a core plug, did you have coolant leaking? did they run a scan for fault codes, i would like more information on the actual fault.
