2004 Dodge Stratus Wont Shift Hard Kick Either Doesnt Catch Shift First

My stratus wont shift, it has a hard kick to either and doesnt like to catch to shift. It was okay at first but now i can move a few feet then it slips and just revs. I did notice that it revs high about 6 to 7 rpm before it would shift, and then run about 2 rpm.

you have an internal failure. the trans will have to come out and be inspected
