Ratting sound when engines idles and a/c compressor kicks on.

When the engine is idling and a/c compressor kicks on it starts to have a rattling sound. It sounds like it may be in the transmission,b ut I'm not sure. When I accelerate the engine alittle it stops.

If the noise is only there with the AC or defroster on, suspect the AC compressor clutch. If it's the made-in-Japan Nippendenso unit, there has been a lot of clutch trouble with them. Have a new clutch installed, not a used one from a salvage yard because it will develop the same problem.
