Installed brand new ac belt, after 3 days it disintegrated, why would this happen, belt was installed by a mechanic as per manufacturers instructions

anytime a belt is replaced the tensioner should be replaced as well. but if it disintegrated then look for oil on it or something out of alignment also the pulleys need to be inspected for sharpedgesor pieces on t hem
