When I start my truck, it will rev and when i drive through town, when i stop at a light it will rev and sometime shut off, and i have to restart it. When i step on the gas it will stall a sec and jerk to a start.

Is it more of an idle issue? If so, have you checked the idle air control valve (IAC). The IAC is responsible for maintaining the engine idle speed. Also, a vacuum leak can cause this same type of problem.

Has the check engine light come on?
