2004 Citroen C2 fuel gauge not increasing when filling up with fuel?

It sound like it is the fuel tank sender unit. This is was happens when it shorts out.

I have the same problem on my diesel citroen C2 could you tell me where to locate the sender unit please if a diesel has one ?

Filled up with diesel yet fuel gauge has dropped 2 units , cannot get anymore fuel in tank its full too top , why ? Fuel gauge gone down instead of showing full after I filled up with diesel

The float for the gas gauge is either stuck or is malfunctioning. You can try pulling it out and seeing if it is stuck ir being impeeded in some way.

Help with citroen xsara picasso please?
Hi i have just bought a second hand 2003 1.8 sx citroen xsara picasso and noticed on the digital dashboard the fuel gauge as got no lights on it everything else is lit up but the little bars inside the gauge ive put 60 pound in thinking it was empty but nothing has happened could it be a bulb a fuse or even a bigger problem this is my first car and dont know much about it yet if anyone could help it wound be much appreciated thank you x

You would need to check the fuel float sending unit and its circuit.

2004 Citroen Picasso Front Wheel Drive

it does correct its self after a while but it is annoying when you first put your fuel in it does not register with it is there an easy way to sort it ie fill the tank up or do i go back to the garage I bought it from thankyou..

the only real fix is to replace the fuel tank sender unit !
