I changed head gaskets in this vehicle. When I put the heater core hose into the intake I found no way to secure it in place, so of coarse after about thirty miles this tube blew out of the intake and I lost all coolant and overheated. Can you please tell me what connects this tube to the intake

Is this a rubber hose or steel?

The tube presses into the intake manifold and it has a bracket (attached to the heater pipe) which should be bolted to the side of the cylinder head (the cylinder head closest to the firewall). This bracket holds it in place and keeps it from popping out.
