what is the difference in the fuel pumps on a 2004 Chevrolet venture with a 112 inch wheel base and a 2004 Chevrolet venture with a 120 inch wheel base both with the same 3.4L engine and what other year model parts will fit the 2004 Chevrolet?

That suggests the tanks might be close to a cross member that is in the way or the exhaust system runs nearby and the hoses are routed to avoid them. Some vehicles are designed to allow the optional or future use of all-wheel-drive, and the fuel tank would have to be relocated away from where the rear drive shaft would run through.
