I JUST PURCHASED A USED TAHOE FROM A PRIVATE OWNER. WHAT I NOTICED LATER AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE RIGHT AFTER LEAVING THE GAS STATION IS WAS THAT THE METER FOR THE GAS FUEL WAS NOT WORKING. IT WAS ON EMPTY AND I HAD JUST FILLED THE GAS TANK. THEN I NOTICE THE METER OF THE BATTERY WAS OFF AND NOT WORKING ASWELL SO WAS THE MILEAGE METER THINGY. I ASKED SOMEONE FOR HELP AND THE ADVISE I GOT WAS TO REMOVE THE POSITIVE FROM THE BATTERY TERMINAL AND WAIT ABOUT A MINUTE OR 2 AND EVERYTHING SHOULD BE WORKING. I DID IT 3 TIMES AND IT STILL NOT WORKING. IM AFRAID TO DRIVE NOW THAT I DONT KNOW THE SPEED LIMIT IM GOING AND KNOWING IF IM LOW ON FUEL. I CALLED THE PERSON WHO I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM AND THEY WONT ANSWER MY CALLS I LEFT NUMEROUS MESSAGES AND STILL NO REPLY. ALSO THEIRS LIKE A CLUCKING NOISE COMMING FROM THE STEERING SHAFT WHEN DRIVING ESSPECIALLY WHEN MAKING TURNS. IM A SINGLE MOM OF 5 CHILDREN, PLEASE HELP ME I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO. THANK YOU, LYNN OF HAWAII

The problem is in the instrument panel cluster itself, replace the intermediate shaft for the clunk noise, it will not affect how the vehicle performes it is still safe to drive.
